Venues, Lodging, and Partners

The Food Sovereignty Symposium & Festival includes multiple venues and partners in Marquette, Michigan and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, just over an hour west of Marquette.  The main event spaces in Marquette are the Tourist Park Campground and the Northern Center.

The hotel room block at the Holiday Inn, which is the official event hotel has closed. However, you should still be able to make a reservation by calling 906-225-1351 or visiting their website.

Camping is available on-site at Tourist Park on May 20nd-21st.  This is a great option since most events on Days 2-3 will be at Tourist Park.  Since Tourist Park opens for the season on May 20th, we recommend camping at Keweenaw Bay’s powwow grounds on May 19th, which puts you right on-site for the event opening.

Local restaurants in Marquette will be featuring Indigenous chefs.

Transportation

Flights into the Marquette Airport are limited, so please book early if you plan to fly direct. Additional airports are located in Houghton, Iron River, and Sault Ste Marie. Alternatively, a greater selection of flights is available from Green Bay, which is just over three hours to the south. A rental car is also recommended.
